Emily is currently in
London, England working on her Master's of
Science degree in Cogntive Neuroscience.
Prior to relocating to the United Kingdom, she earned her
Bachelor's
degree in Psychology from the University of California, San
Diego where she worked with Laura researching memory and
dementia. Emily was also a research intern at the Scripps
Research
Institute where she studied addiction (specifically, alcohol
dependence).
Before studying the brain, she studied Fashion Design at
the Fashion
Institute of Design and Merchandising, Los Angeles.
Emily's favorite part of
the brain is the
dorsolateral prefrontal cortex.

After countless whiteboard
drawings and musings of brains,
they decided
to share their knowledge, artistic inclinations,
and geek humor by
creating Bumpy Brains! Enjoy!

Dedicated to science
education through art and humor.

Laura is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of California,
where she also
earned her Ph.D. in Psychology and Cognitive Science.
While completing her graduate studies, Laura proved to be a popular
professor , as she taught numerious courses, including
Introductory Psychology, Biological
Psychology, Human Sexuality, and Psychological Disorders of Childhood.
Before earning her degree in Psychology, she studied Industrial Design.
Laura's current research projects focus on memory and humor. Her
favorite part of the brain is the orbitofrontal cortex.
